Hilltop 2025 - Day 1

We’ve had a great first day at Hilltop!

We arrived by coach this morning and started with a ‘Welcome Talk’, followed by a picnic lunch outside in the sunshine. It has been lovely to meet the Year 6s from Laxfield and Fressingfield!

Our first activities included ‘The Journey’, a 6-mile walk up Beeston Bump and into Sheringham for a delicious ice cream, before walking back in a circular route. Some of us also went into the forest to do ‘Bushcraft’; foraging for sticks and twigs to build our fires and practising our fire-starting skills! We also enjoyed hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows on our fires. The final group tested their courage on the 'Airjump and Assault Course'; launching off various different platforms onto a giant airbag and squeezing through different obstacles, including balancing over water!

Next it was time to brave the outdoor swimming pool! For those who were brave enough (most of us!), we had fun playing games and jumping into the pool – we were lucky that the sun was shining. We then enjoyed a yummy dinner of pasta bolognese and chocolate sponge with custard before heading into the Enchanted Forest for some team games. We had some chill out time in our rooms before going to bed, ready for a busy day tomorrow!
